Lisa White with a THP Village Partner in Senegal.

Winner of Gardener of the Year 2011 NSW (Gardening Australia), THPA NSW Advisory Board member, and long-time THP investor Lisa White is generously opening up her award-winning garden to the public for her second Open Garden Weekend to raise funds for THP.

Come and experience the tranquillity and beauty of this award-winning 6,700 sqm garden, only 30 minutes from the heart of Sydney, adjacent to a breathtaking heritage-listed blue gum forest.

Enjoy the park-like garden, with dozens of majestic trees, sweeping lawns and flowing garden beds filled with Hydrangea, Zantedeschia, Camellia, Salvia, Magnolia, Rondeletia, Malus and Pieris.

Lisa became part of The Hunger Project more than 10 years ago when she started investing in the Ponponyah Epicentre community in Ghana.

“The success of the Ponponyah Epicentre inspired me to contribute to THP in a more personal role as a board member of the NSW Advisory Board,” Lisa said.

“In 2011, I held my first Open Garden Weekend as a fundraiser for THP. It was a huge success, with 1,500 visitors and $34,800 raised. I am currently an investor in another Epicentre community called Coki situated in the north of Senegal. In January this year, I joined a group of 20 Business Chicks members and visited Coki and 3 other Epicentre communities in Senegal on the THP Business Chicks Immersion Program. Our group raised $210,000 prior to the trip. The Senegal visit absolutely convinced me that THP’s model works. It was completely inspiring,” she said.
